A popular paintball game for both woodsball and speedball styles of play is Capture the Flag. This is somewhat self explanatory but can be expounded upon. Capture the Flag usually consists of only two teams. Each team is assigned a base location and a flag is placed at their base. The object of the game is to recover the flag of the opposing team and bring it back to your base. Obviously, you will want to keep the opposing team from capturing your flag.
Another paintball game to play is Elimination. Elimination games can be held with more than two teams, but too many teams will make for a crowded field. During Elimination games, your team will attempt to eliminate all of the players of the opposing teams without losing all of your own team members. Knowing the specific rules for this game is very important. You must know what is considered an elimination shot and what is required for a player to surrender.
A third paintball game that is somewhat similar to Capture the Flag is “King of the Hill.” During “King of the Hill,” the teams once again have base locations. However, no flag is involved. Each team attempts to capture the opposing team’s base and hold it for the longest amount of time as possible. Whichever team has the highest total time of holding the opposing base is the winner.
These are just the basic paintball games that are often played. Numerous variations are played by paintballers of all experience levels. Additionally, new paintball games are created all the time by inventive paintballers just like you. No matter how you decide to play, make sure you keep the safety of all players involved first place. Injuries are a surefire way to make a good paintball game go downhill very quickly.
