Paint grenades can be very useful!

A well timed and placed explosion can eliminate a dozen opponents in a matter of seconds.

If you should be caught out by someone throwing a paint grenade, you need to get out of there QUICK. This can be achieved by hiding behind a barrier to avoid getting sprayed or just running out of range of the grenade. In both cases you could be doing what the opponent wants; by hiding behind a barrier you give away your hiding place.  The enemy could then move to that position leaving you at a disadvantage. But by running away you let the enemy take a shot at you, thus eliminating you. So depending on the situation either of these strategies could turn out to be a bad decision.

Using paint grenades can be as challenging as defending against them; you need to know when and where to throw a grenade for maximum effectiveness otherwise it will be wasted.

With paint grenades, they are most effective when used to clear an area or eliminate a particular opponent. Even a complete novice can take out a pro with the help of their paint grenades. When you use a grenade you need to get it where you want it – usually near an objective or a large group of enemies. This can eliminate almost all of your opponents if they are huddled together.

Their versatility means they can be used anywhere, anytime. They are great for elimination games or taking out players who hide in one spot behind a barrier.

Buying any paint grenade from the business that sells the paintballing experience is a bad idea: they are usually well over-priced considering the quality of the paint grenade itself. It is a much better idea to get them online from a paintballing website or at a paintballing shop. The price of a paint grenade can vary hugely depending on quality or if you are just being ripped off:

  • Cheap paint grenades will probably not have a very good range of spray or may tend to fail.
  • Some more expensive paint grenades will (most likely) be much better i.e. have a longer range, not fail. But watch out – these may work well but could be over priced.

If you play paintball games often, you may want to consider buying a large amount of paintballs – you would most likely get a cheaper price if you buy in bulk rather than getting a few or one  at a time.
