If you hear a loud bang then someone has probably thrown a flash-bang grenade. These grenades are in the tactical grenade family and are used to disorientate the enemy. If you hear one go off and think it isn’t one of your teammate’s grenades then prepare your self for a large group of enemies coming in your direction. At this point in time it is probably a good idea to stick your head out and see what is going on; most likely you will see a large group of enemies coming in the direction of you or one of your teammates. In this case shoot directly at the group: you will be bound to hit one. But, if the opponent is clever then they will arrange themselves in a line making them harder to hit. In this case either take a shot at one of them or fire multiple shots at each enemy in turn. If you look up and see no enemies then they may have been eliminated by your teammates or may be trying to use the grenade as a distraction and are all sneaking off in a completely different direction. So, in any case, keep your eyes peeled.
So far we have only talked about how to defend against grenades. Well now we are going to talk about the best ways to use grenades.
Using smoke grenades is good to make an objective harder to see and / or reach. These can also be used to stop a particular enemy or group from progressing forward. Keeping an enemy at bay with a smoke grenade can be the difference between winning and losing a battle.
Flash-bangs are useful for temporarily stunning an enemy or directing attention away from you. These can be proved useful when making people look a certain direction so you or a teammate can sneak past undetected making it far easier to eliminate an enemy or get to an objective.
Tactical grenades are almost essential in any keen paintballer’s arsenal. Even an amateur can have a massive edge in a battle over a professional with help from their tactical grenades.
